Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) HAMTAÏ! This is genuine ZEUHL! All of the essential ingredients are there: The mighty drums, the thundering bass, the mesmerizing ostinatos, the ethereal female chant à la THAUD ZAÏA, the Rhodes, the wind instruments... and one of the main composers is a drummer! They're from France, of course... Favorite track: Hquark.

TheEliteExtremophile VAK feature chanting female vocalists, they rely on an array of synthesizers to be the backbone of their sound, and the album features sprawling, jazzy suites. Read the full review here: wp.me/pawrNb-G

miler97487 This is truly one of the finest Zeuhl albums I have ever heard, right there with the best Magma, along with Eskaton, Ga'an and even a bit of King Crimson. It's all here, heavy bass, electric piano, synths, piano, sax, female voices, guitar and drums. Aurélie Saintecroix has such an incredible voice even though it's largely wordless, her performance blew me away. Plus the compositions are long but amazing throughout, no dead spots. What more could you want?

wafiii This second release from this French Zeuhl band is very well constructed and produced but in the end brings very little new to the table that Magma, Eskaton, and Ga'an haven't already brought. The compositions are complex and dynamic with rarely a dull moment or overly-prolonged passage and the musicians are equally up to the task of delivering this complex music in a powerful and jazzy fashion. A minor masterpiece of progressive rock music. Favorite track: Budo.

« Surprises, evocative harmonic and melodic choices, and rhythmic complexities… Vak achieves them all quite convincingly and in a most enjoyable manner on Budo. No fan of progressive rock or avant-prog should leave this release behind. » - Can This Even Be Called Music? (US)

«The album 'Aedividea' presented itself splendidly, but 'Budo' is even more interesting, more mature, more thoughtful and consistent.» - Esensja (Poland)

« VAK have a very powerful, virtuoso, solid and playful version of the Zeuhl on offer [...] Zeuhl freaks should definitely not miss Budo! » - BabyBleue Seinten (Germany)
